Sunfish

The Sunfish below was photographed on the Sherman.  These enormous fish are known to make rare appearances on our dive sites, and when they do it's a special treat for everyone.  The sunfish below must have weighed over 2000 pounds.

The sunfish is one of the most unusual and bizarre fish in the sea!   Normally found in warm and temperate seas, sunfish feed on jellyfish, and are occasionally seen floating sideways on the surface, as if bathing in the sun.
